Hello, my name is Kirk. M. Soodhalter. I am an assistant professor of mathematics at Trinity College Dublin in Ireland.

In the fall (Michaelmas), I teach MAU11601: Introduction to Programming and MAP55633: Numerical Methods for High Performance Computing. In the spring (Hilary) I teach MAU23602: Introduction to Numerical Analysis.
I am the former Vice President of the SIAM UK and Ireland Section. SIAM UKIE is holding its annual meeting 22 March 2024 at the University of Manchester.

I am the current Coordinator of the MSc in High Performance Computing.
- From July 2016-2017, I held the position of Research Scientist at the Johann Radon Institute for Computational and Applied Mathematics (RICAM).
- From June 2012-2016, I held a position of Universitätsassistent (University Assistant Professor) at the Industrial Mathematics Institute at Johannes Kepler University.
- My primary areas of research are numerical linear algebra, numerical algorithms, ill-posed problems, and data analysis.
- I received a Ph.D. in mathematics from Temple University in 2012, supervised by Daniel B. Szyld.
- From 2004-2006, I was a medical writer/editor for the Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at the University of Texas at Houston Medical School.
- I received a Bachelor Degree of Science in mathematics and English literature from Tulane University in 2004, and wrote a bachelors thesis with Victor H. Moll.
